Vesak

“Be heedful, monks,
mindful, virtuous.
With your resolves well-concentrated,
look after your minds.
He who, in this
Dhamma & Vinaya,
remains heedful,
leaving the wandering-on
through birth,
will make an end
of stress.”
(DN 16)

A few months before his passing, the Buddha offered this teaching—one final, gentle reminder of the importance of heedfulness on the path to true happiness. Throughout his life—through his birth, awakening, and final passing into Parinibbāna—he left us profound gifts: not material treasures, but timeless truths, guiding lights for those who wish to walk the path he once trod. As we gather in quiet reflection to commemorate Vesak, may we be stirred once more to be heedful and determined, to guard our hearts with vigilance, and to keep walking the path with sincerity and resolve.

You are warmly invited to join us in a joyous celebration of Vesak.

On Saturday, May 10, Kalyana Mitta Meditation Center, Philippine Theravada Buddhist Fellowship, and Patisota will unite in honoring the Buddha’s birth, enlightenment, and Parinibbāna during this special Vesak celebration. The venue will be at Kalyana Mitta Meditation Center in Muntinlupa City.

We will start welcoming guests at 9:30 am. Ven. Dr. G. Chandima will lead a heartfelt pūjā, followed by an engaging open Q&A session. Afterward, we invite you to partake in a delightful vegetarian lunch dāna, and we warmly encourage you to bring a vegetarian dish to share with our community.

All are welcome—whether you are exploring the Dhamma for the first time or have been on this path for many years. We are eager to share this meaningful day with you.

Registration is required. Limited slots are available. The venue address will be disclosed after registration.
