Group Study

A thoughtful introduction to Buddhist study and practice through a range of modules highlighting different traditions. Each study group explores a distinct stream of the Dharma, such as Early Buddhist teachings, Theravada, Mahayana, etc, allowing participants to encounter the richness and diversity of Buddhist thought and contemplative practice.

We have two study group themes: 1) Life of the Buddha, and 2) Compassion and Wisdom Path.

In this study group, we will explore concise overviews of key Mahāyāna topics to taste the richness and practical relevance of the Buddha’s teachings in daily life, while appreciating the ingenuity and upāya-kauśalya (skillful means) of Dharma teachers across the centuries.

Together we will survey essential Mahāyāna themes in short, accessible modules, applying them to contemporary life and honoring the lineage of compassionate and skillful instruction. As a path grounded in boundless compassion (karuṇā) and deep wisdom (prajñā), the Mahāyāna guides us to realize emptiness (śūnyatā) without losing care for the world.

Schedule is subject to change, please follow us on our Facebook Page for schedule updates and announcements.

In September, we welcome you to this study group on The Heart Sutra, one of the most profound teachings of the Buddha. It points directly to emptiness, a liberating wisdom that is not separate from everyday life.
